Importing People from/to Another Event

copy people from or to an other event

Updated over a month ago

Save time by importing attendees from a previous event into your current event’s People Block. This feature is especially useful for recurring events or when the same group of people is involved. Here’s how to import and manage attendees effectively.

When Can You Import People?

You can import attendees after adding a People Section to an event. The option "Import Attendees from Another Event" will appear at the top of the "Adding Members to People" form if you haven't assigned any member yet.

How to Import People from Another Event

  1. In the "Adding Members to People" form, click the "Import Attendees from Another Event" button.

  2. The event calendar will open, displaying all events with an existing People section. Navigate through the months to find the desired event.

  3. Click on the event you want to use as the source.

Understanding the Import Confirmation

After selecting the source event, a popup will appear with a warning based on the status of the attendees in the source event:

  • Standard Import: If no RSVP statuses were used in the source event:

"You are about to import the people from source event title (date) to target event title (date). This action will replace all information currently entered in the people block for target event title."

  • RSVP Import: If the source event includes attendees with RSVP statuses:

"You are about to import the people from source event title (date) to target event title (date), which includes attendees with RSVP requests. Would you like to send an RSVP to the same members for this event? This action will replace all information currently entered in the people block for target event title."

Choosing Import Options

For events with RSVP statuses, you will need to choose one of two options before confirming:

  • Copy the RSVPs: Attendees who were invited via RSVP will be copied to this event and will receive a new RSVP email to confirm their attendance.

  • Do not copy the RSVPs: Attendees who were invited via RSVP will not be copied to this event, regardless of their RSVP status.

Once you’ve made your choice, click "Confirm" to proceed with the import.

Post-Import Details

After confirming, you will return to the "Adding Members to People" form. The imported members will appear with their statuses from the source event:

  • For standard attendees, their status will match the source event.

  • If you chose to copy the RSVPs, new RSVP emails will have been sent, and the status for those members will be set to "Pending RSVP."

  • If you chose not to copy the RSVPs, attendees with statuses set by RSVP in the source event will not be added to the People. These members are ignored during the import.

Status set by replying to an RSVP request (e.g., the member responded "Attending," "Maybe Attending," or "Not Attending") is never copied. However, if a status was manually adjusted in the source People Block after the RSVP response, it is treated as a standard status and copied.

You can still make changes to individual members in the form, such as adjusting statuses or removing members. All changes are saved instantly.

Finalising the People Section

Once you’ve reviewed and made any necessary adjustments, click "Finish Editing"to return to the Event Details page.

How to copy people to another Event

  1. On the Event Details page, locate the People Block.

  2. Click the three dots (•••) next to the block title and select "Copy to other event(s)" from the dropdown menu. (or use the 3 dots on the left pane).

    • if you had RSVP's in initial status, you will get prompted about possible actions, read carefully and make your choice.

    • if all attendees were added with a status, a popup will warn you about overwriting the destination information. After hitting the "Continue" button, you will be redirected to the next screen. Here you can select your destination event(s).

Even when members replied to your RSVP, they will be handled as an initial invite through RSVP.
