Travel: Overview & Key Features

General features and overview on your travel information

Updated over a month ago

The Travel section in Tourmanagement.com is designed to organize and visualize travel logistics for any event. It supports both group-level and personal-level planning, with fine-grained permissions and easy map visualization. Here's a breakdown of its capabilities:

1. Creating a Travel

  • Add to any event via the “+ Add to Event” button.

  • Starts as an empty block with a blank map.

  • Optional: Import travel details from another event to save time.

2. Adding Travel Legs (General Use)

  • Travel legs represent a segment of the journey, such as a flight or train ride.

  • Four available types:

    • Flight – supports automatic data fetch by flight number or manual input.

    • Bus – manual entry with departure, destination, and timing.

    • Train – same fields as Bus, with train-specific context.

    • Ground Transport – use for non-standard travel like shuttle, carpool, bike, etc.

  • Travel legs can be added without assigning passengers, making them group-visible by default.

3. Adding Travel Legs (Personal Use)

  • Allows assigning individual passengers to one or multiple legs.

  • Supports ticket uploads, booking references, and detailed per-person tracking.

  • Reusable and editable—no need to re-enter people for new legs.

4. Assigning Passengers

  • Optional for group-level travel.

  • Required for private or individualized travel planning.

  • Each person can be assigned to multiple legs with individual booking details.

  • Editing passengers allows for adding or removing legs and updating tickets.

5. Permissions Management

Permissions affect both visibility and editing rights:

Permission Types:

  • Manage Travel – create/edit/delete blocks and legs.

  • View Other Travel – see others’ personal travel legs.

  • View Personal Travel – see only legs where you are a passenger.

Visibility Rules:

  • No passengers = leg is generally visible (to those with general travel viewing rights).

  • Assigned passengers = leg becomes personal.

  • Without correct permissions, users cannot see or interact with travel content at all.

Where to Set Permissions:

  • Go to the Members page of your band.

  • Use the permission matrix on the left or scroll in your member list.

  • Choose a user and click Edit all Permissions.

6. Editing and Deleting Travel Legs

  • Use the three dots next to any leg to make edits or remove it.

  • Updates reflected on the event’s travel map in real time.

7. Optional Features

  • Map View – dynamically updates with each travel leg.

  • Import Travel – pull travel settings from previous events.

  • Reference/Ticket Attachments – for personal legs only.
